Getting there
Reach the fortress via local bus, car, or taxi from Split.
| How | Time | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bus: Take Promet Split local bus #22 from the HNK (National Theater) bus stop in downtown Split to Klis Megdan. | 25-30 mins | €1 - €3 | Check schedules as buses depart roughly every hour; the return bus departs from the same drop-off point. |
| Car: Drive 9 km north from Split via the D8 and D1 roads towards Sinj/Dugopolje. | 20 mins | Free parking | Free parking is available at the base of the fortress; it requires a short but steep walk up to the entrance. |
| Taxi: Hire an Uber, Bolt, or regular taxi from central Split directly to the fortress entrance. | 20 mins | €15 - €25 each way | Great for small groups; arranging the return trip in advance or asking the driver to wait is recommended as rideshare apps can have sparse availability in Klis. |
